MOLD REMEDIATION
Building occupants and homeowners are now becoming more aware of the hazards of mold contamination. The moisture associated with water intrusions will promote the growth of mold such as Stachybotrys, Penicillium, Aspergillus, and Cladosporium.
Mold can grow on most common building surfaces and products if they remain wet for 24 to 48 hours. Special care must be taken during the restoration process or serious health hazards can develop.
Various types of mold have been proven to cause many health complications including allergic reactions, respiratory tract irritation, chronic fatigue, possible fever, hemosiderosis and, in some cases, cancer. Other varieties of mold can damage furnishings, destroy wood and compromise the integrity of the structure. When a problem has been identified, it is important to act quickly in order to minimize potential exposure.
As one of the nation's leaders in the remediation and restoration industry, Air Quality Restoration™ brings many years of knowledge and experience.

AIR DUCT CLEANING
Air Quality Restoration™ is experienced and qualified in standards pertaining to the maintenance and construction of HVAC systems for residential, commercial and industrial structures.
During the initial inspection of the HVAC system one must determine through mold sampling if there is any mold growth in the A/C ducts, in the air handler or if elevated levels of microbial contamination exists in the interior air space. If mold is detected in any of the above mentioned areas it is imperative to perform a corrective cleaning method to the HVAC system in order to achieve and maintain acceptable indoor air quality.
Air Quality Restoration™ will use state-of-art air duct cleaning equipment and techniques. Do not get the corrective cleaning process confused with the normal maintenance cleaning of the HVAC system recommended to remove dust, dirt and debris. Corrective air duct cleaning is a thorough cleaning method performed exclusively to ensure the removal of mold. Corrective air duct cleaning is designed to prevent settled mold spores from dispersing themselves airborne after the remediation process is completed and the HVAC system is powered back on.
Upon completion of a corrective air duct cleaning, clearance testing must be performed. Clearance testing must take place after every remediation job, regardless of size. Clearance testing will ensure that all contamination has been reduced to levels which are not elevated in comparison to the outside air. Clearance testing provides confirmation that the project has been satisfactorily remediated and that the contamination has not spread to other areas. Once the project area has passed clearance testing, reconstruction can be performed if necessary.
